bkr Water Bottles Are The Must-Have Beauty Essential For Women With Style

Nowadays, it seems that bland, utilitarian items are getting an upgrade. Birkenstocks are now a part of every fashion girl’s wardrobe, and sneakers look good enough to walk down the red carpet. The market is certainly rife with pieces that evoke glamour, offering consumers a chicer range of options than even before. So much so that even going to the gym has become a place to show off one’s latest designer duds. Indeed, many women have eschewed the simple T-shirt and baggy sweat pants for more elevated ensembles. Luxury labels like Addidas by Stella McCartney, Cynthia Rowley and Fendi have created a sleek yoga pants, leggings and jackets tailor made for an intense spin class, but also imbue a high degree of panache. And for those that prefer the finer things, a simple plastic water bottle just doesn’t cut it.

Seeing this trend in luxe activewear are Kate Cutler and Tal Winter, the founders of bkr, a line of stylish water bottles that caters to women like themselves—successful, fashion forward and have an appreciation the “good life.” As former San Francisco-based lawyers who, as Cutler says, “had some extra money in our pockets,” they saw a niche in the marketplace that needed to be filled.

“We realized we were intelligent, fashionable, cultured women who wanted everything in our lives to be glowing and glamorous, but we were constantly drinking out of trash; it didn’t compute,” says Winter.

According to most experts, drinking seven to eight glasses of water is essential for healthy living. And rather than constantly buy disposable bottles, bkr’s vessels are a chic, environmentally-friendly alternative. Made out of glass and a silicon casing that comes in an assortment of pastel colors, the brand has made it a point to differentiate itself.

Made out of glass and a silicon casing that comes in an assortment of pastel colors, the brand has made it a point to differentiate itself.

“We wanted to drink from something clean, clear, soft and beautiful and that was made of glass and not plastic or metal,” says Cutler. “And it had to have a small mouth. We hated drinking from a wide mouth bottle.  The wide mouths will never make sense to us.”

Celebrities like Scarlett Johansson, Gisele Bundchen, Reese Witherspoon and more have already taken to bkr, running errands or going to the gym with the product in tow. It has become a stylish accessory that also encourages drinking the recommend amounts of water throughout the day—not just for the Hollywood set, but for regular, working professionals, too.

“I love that my bkr is a beautiful object, whether on my desk, in my purse, while I’m commuting, or at the boxing gym—it is something I am thrilled to look at and use everyday,” says Holly Roussell Perret-Gentil, the associate curator of Photography and Coordinator of External Affairs at the Musée de l'Elysée in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. “More and more, I find its less important for me to have lots of things, but have items that I feel good about using and looking at—and, since using my bkr, I really do drink a lot more water!”

So, if you want amp up your beauty routine, and still look stylish, know that bkr is the brand from you. And at a starting price of $30, it certainly won’t break your bank account in the least. Just think about the amount you’d be saving by not having to constantly buy Fiji and Evian.

The brand is currently sold at Neiman Marcus, Birchbox, Holt Renfrew, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Murale, Bloomingdale's and Mybkr.com.
